In the application case of buffer packaging, air cushion is the right-hand man of express buffer packaging. It is light in texture and does not add weight to the package; It not only controls the transportation cost, but also reduces the packaging burden.


According to the material, the air cushion can be divided into three types: HDPE cushion air cushion, PA cushion air cushion and biodegradable cushion air cushion; what are they, what are the differences, and how to choose a suitable cushion air cushion?


First, HDPE buffer air cushion:

HDPE is a thermoplastic polyolefin produced by ethylene copolymerization, commonly known as high density polyethylene. The material has the advantages of small size, light weight and strong flexibility. HDPE cushion air cushion can withstand the pressure of about 60 Pa, is widely distributed in the market, widely used cushion air cushion packaging material.


Compared with PA cushion air cushion, its airtight performance is general; HDPE cushion surface there are subtle invisible pores, in 2 weeks to 1 month or so will gradually produce air leakage.


However, for general express packaging, HDPE cushioned air cushion packaging material is sufficient to maintain the protection of the product during express transportation.


Common HDPE buffer air cushion packaging material (bubble film) is mainly divided into pillow film, row film, gourd film, bag gourd, totally four types.

Second, PA cushion cushion:

PA, polyamide, commonly known as nylon, is an engineering plastic with excellent performance. The air cushion surface of the capillary pores are smaller and less, so the nylon cushion air cushion is better than the HDPE cushion air cushion, higher air permeability, usually can maintain the air retention time of about 6 months; The material is flexible and can withstand pressure of about 120 Pa. Compared with HDPE cushioned air cushion, it is more suitable as a cushioned packaging material for long-term storage and logistics transportation.


A common nylon cushioned air cushion packaging material is an air column bag.

Third, biodegradable air cushion:

Decomposable

Refers to the general plastic particles in some additives can promote its degradation function, so that it can control the refinement of plastic decomposition in a predetermined time; In general, the essence of degradable material plastic small molecules is plastic, decomposition is only to decompose the plastic macromolecules into small particles, and can not play a very good role in environmental protection. This kind of plastic material with degradation auxiliaries can only be called decomposition materials, and can not be called environmental protection biodegradation materials in the real sense.


Biodegradable

Biodegradation refers to the process in which organic materials decompose into compost under natural conditions under the action of microorganisms.


At present, the biodegradable cushion packaging materials are PLA kraft air cushion. It is made of an outer layer of kraft paper and an inner layer of PLA polylactic acid film. Kraft paper has the function of environmental protection, high strength compression and crack resistance. PLA polylactic acid (PLA) is a biodegradable film made from plant starch, which has the function of air locking. PLA polylactic acid will begin to undergo qualitative change and embrittlement in about six months under atmospheric conditions. The air leakage rate of PLA kraft paper pad is similar to that of HDPE material, and the qigong retaining ability is not durable. Because the material can not be stored for a long time, the packaging needs are only suitable for short-term express transportation with environmental protection policies.

The impact resistance of PLA kraft paper air cushion is not as strong as the traditional HDPE and PA air cushion, and the use price is expensive and the cost is high, which is 3~4 times or even higher than the traditional HDPE air cushion.
